Last week, the internet forums went crazy with comments about the PokerStars cheating scandal that took place recently. It is truly an awful moment for the online gambling industry when we come to find out about malicious practices that were successful. There is nothing more upsetting for gamblers and casino industry entrepreneurs than to find out about people cheating the system we are all trying to protect and keep honest.

Scammers are one of the largest threats to the online casino industry on a global scale, it gives our industry a bad name, and it scares anyone new from coming in. Unforunately, there are people dedicated to scam others and profit from it, but the good news is that our industry seems to have the appropriate technology to catch them on the spot and deal with the situation appropriately.

If you are an online casino player and browse around some gambling websites, you will probably come across some poker sites, including PokerStars. Currently, this is one of the largest online gambling sites in the world and it has a customer database of thousands of players. Last week, the company cofirmed that a cheat was spotted at the Pot Limit Omaha mid to high stakes tables. The investigation on this case was carried out by the Isle of Man's Gambling Supervision Committee, since they have the authority to supervise and audit investigations on the site registered within their jurisdiction. Once the issue was detected, PokerStars immediately went to them in order to solve the situation as fast as possible.

The players involved in the scandal are receiving funds to compensate for the incidents, which adds up to PokerStars' top class reputation for staying on top of their security and their players' best interest. None of the names of the players involved were revealed based on legal advice, but the company was extremely quick to detect and punish the scammers, and to respond quickly and repay losses to the victims.

A lot of players have expressed dissatisfaction with not finding out who the scammers are, as they feel they should have the right to know who the perpetrators are but PokerStars has not commented on the issue. If you were a player at PokerStars would you like to know who the cheaters were? What is your position regarding PokerStars' decision to keep their identities confidential?
