A large number of online casinos recommended by CasinoDaily.com are accredited by the independent auditor eCOGRA. Players value the Safe and Fair seal issued by eCOGRA and sign up at these online casinos. One reason for players having faith in eCOGRA is that the organization is constantly upgrading its regulatory standards. Recently, on September 19 it has announced the latest updates to its self-regulatory requirements.

The changes come as a result of an ongoing program to routinely review the eGAP Requirements and make updates so as to ensure they are in line with international best practice at all times. Making the announcement, Chief Executive Andrew Beveridge said, “eCOGRA continues to refine and improve its self-regulation requirements in order to provide ongoing assurance that its seal holders behave responsibly, players are protected and games are fair.”

The new requirements focus primarily on consumer protection and information security. The announcement did not give the nitty-gritty of the changes, but listed the documents that were considered. These include industry relevant information security provisions as outlined in ISO/IEC 27001:2013, the European Commission's published recommendation for the common protection of consumers of online gambling services in the European Union and the European Parliament's approved draft legislation for a Fourth European Union Anti-Money Laundering Directive.

Jeanne Ferreira, Regulatory Compliance and eGAP Manager at eCOGRA pointed out that the demand for the eCOGRA Safe and Fair seal continues to grow. This seal is issued after the online casino operator complies with the stringent eCOGRA requirements that also include the mandatory technical standards and other stipulations from respective national licensing jurisdictions. She added that the latest amendments to the eGAP Requirements will provide confidence that eCOGRA is keeping pace with international developments, and remains relevant in a rapidly evolving industry.

eCOGRA currently accredits and closely monitors over 200 tier one online casinos. These include 32Red online casino, brands of the Fortune Lounge group such as Platinum Play and Royal Vegas and brands of the Jackpot Factory group such as All Slots and All Jackpots. eCOGRA was founded in 2003 and has amassed a wealth of experience in implementing international best practice standards and requirements and ensuring these are maintained through regular review and monitoring. The process includes computing and certifying actual monthly payout percentages. It is accredited by twelve different European regulatory jurisdictions. Apart from online casinos, eCOGRA also audits mobile casinos, live dealer casinos, online poker rooms and online gambling software providers.
