NetEnt Announces Horse Racing Branded Slot

NetEnt, the leading games supplier to online casinos will be entering a new arena in branded video slots. It has announced a partnership with eight-time Champion Jockey Peter Scudamore MBE to create its first sports branded product.

In the press release some details of the upcoming video slot were given. The branded licensed title will utilise Scudamore’s image rights and his well-known and loved voice. The video slot will also include actual racing content in the themed game features, particularly the free spins feature. NetEnt has indicated that the slot game will have high variance, which will be an additional thrill for horse racing fans. The slot game will be launched sometime during the 2018/19 National Hunt season in order to capitalise on the excitement of the peak of the jumps season at the Cheltenham Festival and Grand National at Aintree. The exact date of release has not been announced, but it will be next year.

Scudamore had a 15-year riding career, during which he recorded 1,678 winners. Following this he became a trainer and is now one of the sport’s best-known and well-respected racing experts. Bryan Upton, Director of Game Products at NetEnt, further elaborated on why they went with Scudamore. He said, “As one of the most revered jockeys and horse racing personalities of all time, Peter Scudamore is the perfect personality for us to partner with to launch our first sports-themed branded title.” Upton added that this would be a landmark product for NetEnt and they were sure that slots players and racing fans would be thrilled with the results.

Scudamore’s 1,678 career winners was a record when set in 1993. He became the first jockey to notch more than 150 winners in a season and established a record of 221 season winners. Though both these records have been broken, his fans recall that the Scudamore rode when the National Hunt season was much shorter with fewer races. He won 13 times at the Cheltenham Festival, though the Cheltenham Gold Cup eluded him in his long career. Scudamore also explained why he accepted this project. He said, “From our first conversation, NetEnt’s commitment to innovation and passion for creating fantastic products was clear. I am delighted we are joining forces to launch a new slots game that will capture the unbeatable, exhilarating racing experience.”

Some of the other upcoming NetEnt slots are Vikings and Narcos. The new slots along with the existing premium titles can be played at online casinos like Kroon Casino and Orange Casino.
