The latest press release from Microgaming, the leading software provider to online casinos, states, “Microgaming is ringing in the New Year with several new games.” These games have gone live on January 6 at QuickFire and Microgaming operators like Royal Vegas, Spin Palace and All Slots.

The first of these games is Lucky Twins, which is based on an Asian theme. Jade colored reels, ornately crafted graphics and the rhythmic sound of the gong sets the mood for this relaxed and simple slot game. It is in the standard 5x3 format with 9 selectable pay lines. The betting options allow for high end wagers. The Lucky Twins, also known as the Fortune Children, represent protection and prosperity. This symbol acts as the Wild. The slot game uses another lucky icon, the Meneki Neko waving cat. Lucky Twins is available on download and flash desktop platforms of Microgaming operators.

The other new video slot released in January on these two platforms is Peek A Boo. Microgaming describes this as a “comical and colorful 5x4 reel, 40 paylines ghost-themed game”. This feature rich online slot includes the quirky kid who zaps ghosts when appearing on the third reel and packs them in a ghost meter. When he has captured 10 ghosts, the free spins feature is triggered and you can win up to 13 free spins. During this feature, the slot game expands to 1,024 ways to win.

Mobile gamers at Microgaming operators will get to play Untamed Giant Panda on their smartphones and tablets. This instalment in Microgaming’s Untamed slot series is highly popular because of 243 ways to win game and three bumper features: Collect a Wild, Lucky Nudge and Your Gamble. All of these are available on the mobile version as well.

Last, but certainly not least, Microgaming has added to its multi-player slots portfolio. Mermaids Millions is set to make a splash in this format. The popular online video slot has been converted for multi-player gaming on the download and Flash platforms, injecting social elements to game play. Up to six players can participate simultaneously in a virtual room where “they can view each other’s play, chat and share the action of the bonus rounds”.
