All of the Marvel Comics themes slot machines might be disappointed to hear what we have to say, but news broke that online slot games developers might not receive a renewal of their license to use the comics in their games once they expire. This is due to a dispute for the rights with Disney, so keep reading to find out all the details of why we might lose some of the best slot machines that ever crossed our paths.

In case you were not aware, the Walt Disney company is one of the leaders in the fight against gambling and online gambling in Florida, as they argue that it tarnishes the family oriented reputation that the state has established worldwide. The company is so opposed to gambling that it is not a form of entertainment on any of their cruise ships or venues, and they have been successful in their cause. This is why state lawmakers in Florida are one again debating whether any Las Vegas style resort should be allowed to open in their jurisdiction.

In 2009 Walt Disney bought the entire line of Marvel superheroes for $4 billion. We all know that the faces of Spiderman, the Avengers, Iron Man, and many others have been the main protagonists of our favorite online casino games and they generate a lot of revenue for everyone involved in the deal. However, the Walt Disney Company has found that by allowing those titles to be at use in online slot machine gaming is helping build a rival entertainment conglomerate that we know as online gambling.

On Saturday, a spokeswoman for Walt Disney informed that the company is planning to cut all ties to gambling by ending their licensing agreements with online casino software providers on the next expiration date. "Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk and others will begin to disappear from casinos and Internet gambling sites, Marvel discontinued plans to initiate or renew slot machine licensing arrangements as part of its integration with Disney and the handful of remaining license agreements have expiration dates within the next few years,” she said.

Another spooky bit of information is that last year Disney bought Lucasfilm, owner of all the Star Wars saga, for another $4 billion. These characters are also featured in many slot machines across the world, so we wonder if they are planning to head in the same direction with them. It is truly regrettable to lose such a terrific form of entertainment to a greedy corporation.
