There are several online blackjack variants that offer side bets. All online casino games suppliers have such variants in their portfolio. The game is played in the usual manner. If the dealer does not bust you lose the Buster Blackjack side bet. If the dealer busts the side bet wins automatically, whether or not you win the main game.

It is the payout schedule of the Buster Blackjack side bet that makes it extremely exciting. The payout amount depends on the number of cards dealt to the dealer hand in order that it busts. The greater the number of cards, the larger is the payout. The minimum number required for the dealer to bust is three cards. This awards the lowest payout of 2 to 1. If the dealer busts with 8 cards or more the payout is 250 to 1. Now, if you are dealt a blackjack and the dealer busts with 7 or more cards the payouts are really whopping. With 7 cards the payout is 800 to 1. And with 8 cards or more the payout is an unimaginable 2000 to 1.

There is a word of caution as well. All this sounds very good. But an expert analysis of the Buster Blackjack side bet reveals that it has a house edge of 6.2%. The main game of blackjack has a house edge of only about 0.5%, but offers payouts of 1 to 1 for normal wins and 3 to 1 for blackjack win. So if you want to try for the high payouts then you have to sacrifice somewhere else.
