Most online video poker variants have the same game play and are different only to the extent of changes being made in the payout table or introduction of wild cards. In this context Reel Play Poker is refreshing because it introduces structural changes and a slots twist. Reel Play Poker has been developed by the leading online casino games supplier Microgaming. It is live at all Microgaming online casinos like Platinum Play, 32Red and All Slots.

Reel Play Poker is available on the download platform of Microgaming online casinos. You first look for Video Poker in the Games Menu. A separate tab is provided for Reel Play Poker within the video poker section. The betting parameters are selected in a manner similar to video slots. You choose the number of paylines, the number of coins per payline and the coin size. Better Reel Play Poker has 20 paylines and you can wager up to 20 coins per payline.

You then start the game play by clicking the Deal button. Five cards are dealt from a single standard deck in the demonstration reel. You then have to decide the cards you want to hold. You can do this manually or through the auto hold feature that employs optimum video poker strategy. After taking this step you click the Spin button to advance the game to the main reels. The main reels have a video slots structure with five reels and three rows and 20 paylines zigzagging across them. The reels that correspond to the held cards are first filled with those cards. The remaining reels spin and are randomly filled with other cards. The video poker hands are independently evaluated across all 20 paylines. This is like a 20 hand video poker game, but without 20 separate hands in different horizontal rows.

The payout table begins with the jacks or better hand ranking. The payout table does not give the number of coins won per coin wagered. The numbers automatically adjust for the number of coins wagered and indicate final coins paid out. The payouts for each winning payline are added together and credited to the player's balance. The maximum payout is as usual for a royal flush. If you have wagered 20 coins per payline then this payout will be 16,000 coins. The maximum payout per spin is 320,000 coins, which corresponds to all paylines having a royal flush with 20 coins wagered per payline.
