Casino players from around the world try to develop methods that will enable them to get lucky with slot machines. Myth #1: Talk Sweet to the Machine

Throughout my life I have observed many people play at slot machines and noticed that some of them think that talking to the machine will increase their luck. I remember being in Vegas and hearing a woman whisper "Please baby, you know mommy needs some money today". Five minutes later, the same woman was hysterically screaming at the slot but in a different tone: "Why are you being such a tight piece of ****!?" Regardless of what they say, slot machine whisperers think that what they say will somehow influence the slot machine into giving them money.

Myth or Fact? Our report is that this technique is a myth, since our research shows that slot machines cannot hear human voices nor experience emotions. However, if talking to slot machines helps you vent when you have been on a losing streak for weeks, please feel free to do so in moderation.

Myth #2: Click or Pull the Handle with Rhythm

There are many variations of this technique, some players choose to go with the strong pull or click, others like a more delicate approach to their wagering, and some play songs on their iPods and wager to the rhythm of the music. This idea works under the belief that the speed of the handle/button can affect the results of the wager.

Myth or Fact? Unfortunately, this is a myth. The buttons or handles have no influence on the results the random number generator (RNG) will draw, and in our times slot machines are solely controlled by RNGs and no longer use handle activating gears.

Myth #3: Avoid Penalties for Playing Less than the Maximum Number of Coins

Some players believe that slot machines without penalties for betting less than the maximum wager so that they can adjust the size of the wager to the playing conditions they encounter.

Myth or Fact: This is a fact! Players have the best chance of winning when they are able to adjust the number of coins in each wager, and getting rid of the penalty maximizes your winnings.
